Dr. Israr Ahmed's Concept of "Iqāāmat ē Dēēn": Analytical Study

Abstract

The name of Dr. Israr Ahmad is very important among the people who were active for the establishment of religion in the subcontinent. He is among those who made continuous efforts for the revival of Islam in the last century. He declared it as their life goal and spent their lives in this struggle. The fact is that while he fulfilled the duty of popularizing the Quranic thought, he also performed valuable services regarding the domination and establishment of religious teachings and rulings. Keeping this goal in mind, he formed a caravan in the form of an Islamic organization, which under his headship worked to achieve this goal. This article deals with the Dr. Israr Ahmad’s concept of “Iqāāmat ē Dēēn”. It will analyse the meanings, importance and audience of this obligation of “Iqāāmat ē Dēēn”. According to Dr. Israr Ahmad it is obligatory for all the Muslims to make honest efforts for the establishment of religious teachings not only on individual level but on state level too. It is the duty of all the Prophets and the survival of Pakistan is associated with it.
