The great tragedy of the present age social chaos and anarchy the reason of which is moral degeneration. It is undeniable fact that high moral values are an integral part of a healthy society. Moral decay helps hasten degenerate the whole fabric of Society. A very important object of Islam is to set up a society that is based on respect for humanity, where every individual becomes a source of peace and happiness, where no one disrespects another, where mutual relations are above selfishness and vested interests. For this a hosts of Universal moral values have been enshrined in the Quran and Sunnah. Surah āl-ḥǧrāt which is a beautiful blend of universal social and moral teachings that can be applied to the individuals living in the any society of the World. To explain this fact only two verses of surah āl-ḥǧrāt are selected in this research article to high light the following moral values not to scoffing, nor defaming one another, nor using offensive nicknames that amount to defamation, Nor suspicions, nor spying on another and nor speaking ill of each other behind their backs (back biting).
