The Art of Interpretation: A Comparative Analysis of Tafsir Tibyān al-Qurʻān and Tafsir Anwar al-Bayan and Importance

Abstract

This Research paper offers a comparative study of two well-known commentaries named; Tafsir Tibyān al-Qurʻān and Tafsir Anwar al-Bayan. These two writings offer a distinct perspective on comprehending the diverse aspects of Seerah, of Muhammad (PBUH), that the Qurʼān reveals and are significant contributions to Qurʼān interpretation.  Tafsīr Anwar Al-Bayān offers an in-depth analysis of the Qurʼānic text. This book examines the historical background of revelation and meticulously analyses linguistic subtleties to offer profound understanding of the lessons and messages the Qurʼān imparts on a range of topics related to human life.  This work utilizes conventional thematic analysis to offer a more profound comprehension of the guidance and wisdom found in the Qurʻān. Another notable scholar's work, the Tibyān al-Qurʻān, adopts a distinct but complementary methodology, Interprets the Qur'an on the problems and difficulties of the present. The goal of this work is to offer helpful advice and answers and solutions to the issues and challenges that people face in contemporary social structure. It gives the teachings of the Qurʻānic significance and application to modern life by adapting them to moral, ethical, and societal issues. This comparative examination looks at the special qualities and complementing strengths of these two of his most important writings, highlighting the contributions each one has made to the understanding of the Qurʼān and applied aspects of Seerah.  It also emphasizes, how crucial they are for assisting readers in overcoming a range of obstacles in life, both temporal and spiritual.  Studying Tafsīr Anwār al-Bayān and Tibyān al-Qurʼān offers a thorough understanding of how the Qurʼānic teachings are applied and comprehended in various contexts. It is beneficial for Qurʼānic scholars, students, and practitioners alike as a valuable source of information.  Islam uses the teachings of the Qurʻān to help people grasp life's intricacies on a deeper level.
