Abstract

Ashumansarethe best creatures of the universe, they have been assigned many duties. The most important of these is the upbringing of their children. On the Day of Judgment, Allah, the Exalted, will ask the children about their parents before asking them about their parents. Because just as parents have a right over their children, so do children have a right over their parents.   Our Prophetﷺ has laid emphasis in his many teachings that parents should bring up their children with sheer responsibility. He preached for teaching manners of cleanliness, eating, talking, dealing with others and upholding high values like truth, honesty, wisdom, seeking knowledge and many others specified for good Muslims. Therefore, parents have a great responsibility to teach their children well, to inculcate moral values in their hearts and minds, to teach them truth, honesty, perseverance, selflessness, habit of helping people around, respecting elders, treating guests with respect, being kind to neighbors, and treating others with love. Efforts should also be made towards the psychological training of children also. When a child becomes wise and prudent, at the same time he should be trained in courage, boldness, truthfulness, and bravery. Let it be known and realized that the child should choose goodness and kindness for others, control his anger, which means that he should be trained to be adorned with social and moral virtues. Things that are forbidden in Islam must be kept away from him. When he develops such tendency from his childhood, he will not turn to any religion other than Islam. If children are nourished in a healthy, peaceful, and pleasant atmosphere, they grow up as contributing and giving members of the community. If they learn the values of Islam; the truth, peace, patience, softness, respect, and love for others they become good Muslims and benefit not only their parents but the society at large. Any ignorance in this regard will result in a chaos. So take good care of your children. Fulfill the responsibility that Allah Almighty has entrusted to you
