Abstract

Mosque is the most important institution of Islamic society. Throughout the Islamic history, the mosque plays the central role in the development of the cultural, social and political life of Muslims. It is a place for prayers, meditation, religious and social guidance, a judicial court, a government sector for political discussions and decisions, and the most important, a basic institution of education for both men and women. The women of Muslim society have the equal rights over the institution of mosque like men. Islam not only supports the women to attend the daily congregation of Namaz but encourages her to attend the prayers, khutbats of Eid and Jumma. Islam provides women the opportunity of gaining knowledge from the direct central source of mosque. In keeping with prophet's era, Muslim must work to develop more welcoming and accessible space for the women in their congregation of Namaz for the development of an original Islamic society.
